Live healthy or die

The name is not hyperbole.

The body is not optional equipment. It is the instrument through which everything else in your life is expressed — your work, your relationships, your faith, your presence. A body that is neglected long enough stops being an instrument and starts being a limitation. The decline is gradual. The consequences are not.

Live healthy, or eventually the choice gets made for you.

The body has three dimensions — not one.

Most people approach physical health as a single variable: weight, fitness, appearance. It isn't.

Sustenance

What you put in. Food, sleep, water — the raw material the body has to work with. You can train hard on bad fuel for a while. Not indefinitely.

Capability

What you can do. Strength, endurance, mobility, coordination. Capability without wholeness is brittle. Capability without sustenance is borrowed time.

Wholeness

The absence of what shouldn't be there. You can be fit and broken simultaneously. Wholeness is the body operating as designed, without interference.

These three are a system. Pull on one and the others respond.

The body is connected to everything else.

A person who is physically capable but sleeping four hours a night and eating badly is not well — they're running on reserves. A person who eats well and rests but has let capability atrophy is not well either. And both of them, if the body is the only dimension of their life they're attending to, may be neglecting what makes physical health worth having.

The assessment we're building toward maps the body — all three dimensions — as part of a larger picture. Not to minimize physical health. To correctly size it. To show you where you actually stand and where the leverage is.

You came here because you take this seriously.

The name filtered for you. You're not looking for permission to eat whatever you want. You're looking for an honest account of where you are and what it would take to get where you want to be.

That's what's coming. Until then — the body keeps score whether you're paying attention or not.

Assessment in development.
